Yunnan Black Tea is generally called Dian Hong in China. Dian Hong translates literally as 'Yunnan Red.' Dian is another name for Yunnan Province. In China, 'black' tea is called 'red' tea because of the reddish brown color of infused liquor.The main difference between Yunnan Black Tea (Dian Hong) and the other Chinese black tea is the amount of fine leaf buds, or "golden tips," presented in the dried tea. It can be easily identified by its luscious soft leaves, and an unique peppery taste. Premium Yunnan Black Tea (Dian Hong) is hand crafted in areas starting from the Fengqing County to the south of Dali in Western Yunnan. Only the pure buds or shoots including one tender leaf and one bud are hand picked, processed, and rolled into tightly shaped product. This tea is best brewed with water at 90°C for 3-4 minutes and should be brewed multiple times, like all Dian Hong teas, it is best enjoyed without milk or sugar. It is made of single-bud black tea and is made by hand with well-proportioned size, without adding any artificial flavors, it is more the aroma of the tea itself (similar to honey).
